About the role

Engineering leadership role responsible for managing a cross-functional team of engineers focused on system software, device drivers, and hardware enablement firmware for Chromebooks and Googlebooks, bridging hardware and software, and driving open-source initiatives in collaboration with SoC and hardware vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cross-functional team of engineers.
  • Participate in board bring-ups and work with partners to deliver new Chromebook and Googlebook devices.
  • Collaborate with a global team of software and hardware engineers on new technology proposals and process improvements.
  • Evaluate and help improve code and processes for scalability and maintainability.
  • Be prepared to discuss knowledge and use of AI tools during the hiring process. AI fluency is an expectation in this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in embedded or kernel software development.
  • 3 years of experience in people management.
