About the role

EHS Cluster Manager role within Google's Global Environment, Health, and Safety team, responsible for implementing the Global Safety Management Framework across the Pacific Northwest campus, partnering with cross-functional teams to create safety solutions for R&D labs and complex infrastructure, and leading safety programs, audits, and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate safety solutions based on proactive risk assessments to maximize worker protection in Research and Development (R&D) and lab settings.
  • Oversee the creation of educational materials, program documentation, and digital tracking systems to ensure safety solutions scale across the Pacific Northwest cluster.
  • Partner with the site leads to embed safety protocols into daily operations, ensuring minimal friction and maximum compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments; draft high-level reports for leadership on site safety and health.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for incidents or "near misses," identifying corrective actions and ensuring they are tracked to completion, while also ensuring environmental permitting and compliance at local, state, and federal levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) operations including Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Washington State regulations.
