About the role

Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Cluster Manager for the Bay Area, responsible for implementing Google’s Global Safety Management Framework across a dynamic campus, partnering with cross-functional teams to embed safety into operations and manage safety programs across the Bay Area cluster.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate safety solutions based on proactive risk assessments to maximize worker protection in Research and Development (R&D) and lab settings.
  • Oversee the creation of educational materials, program documentation, and digital tracking systems to ensure safety solutions scale across the Bay Area cluster.
  • Partner with site leads to embed safety protocols into daily operations, ensuring minimal friction and maximum compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments; draft high-level reports for leadership on site safety and health.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for incidents or "near misses," identifying corrective actions and ensuring they are tracked to completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Chemistry, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS).
  • 7 years of experience in physical safety (e.g., confined space, fall protection, lift programs), industrial hygiene (e.g., indoor air quality, exposure assessments, working with local regulators), event safety, or retail Safety.
