About the role

Inferact’s mission is to grow vLLM as the world’s AI inference engine and accelerate AI progress by making inference cheaper and faster. The Strategic Finance Lead will shape growth, investments, and scaling through rigorous financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis, partnering with founders and cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the operating model, budgeting, rolling forecasts, headcount and expense planning, and cash runway scenarios.
  • Translate questions about inference economics, pricing, commercial opportunities, compute spending, and hiring into rigorous financial models and clear recommendations.
  • Partner with founders, engineering, infrastructure, go-to-market, People, and Corporate Controller to evaluate growth and investment priorities, understand customer and product profitability, and make resource tradeoffs explicit.
  • Support board discussions and fundraising with clear financial narratives and decision materials.
  • Work with the Controller to translate actuals into forward-looking insights and practical recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Experience personally owning strategic finance, business planning, or financial analysis for a growing technology business, with influence on operating or investment decisions.
  • Strong financial modeling skills (driver-based revenue/expense forecasts, headcount plans, connect income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Commercial and operating judgment on unit economics, investment returns, pricing, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to reconcile plans with accounting actuals and explain performance variances.
  • Advanced spreadsheet and analytical skills; ability to combine financial and operational data into inspectable, maintainable models.
  • Strong communication and business-partnering skills; able to explain financial tradeoffs to technical and non-financial leaders.
  • Comfort owning ambiguous finance projects end-to-end and prioritizing useful decisions over unnecessary process.
