About the role

Software Development Engineer responsible for designing and building AI primitives and user-facing services in a fast-paced environment within the Agentic AI-centric Velocity Labs team at AWS. Focused on delivering features from concept to rollout with high software quality and collaboration to shape future product direction.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build AI primitives and user facing services in a fast paced environment
  • Ship features from concept to design to implementation and through to roll-out and support
  • Follow best practices of software development to ensure project schedules are met and software quality is high
  • Create and review system designs and work with the team to build the service
  • Actively participate in the team's planning and brainstorming to help shape future product direction
  • Leverage AI-enabled tooling throughout the product lifecycle to deliver high quality product fast

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
