About the role

Senior Software Engineer to develop embedded software for the Leo Customer Terminal platform within Amazon's Project Leo (satellite broadband). Responsibilities include design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations of embedded Linux software for Customer Terminal devices, with emphasis on secure compute environments, state machine design, and SDLC participation.

Responsibilities

  • Development and testing with embedded Linux
  • Develop embedded software functions for Customer Terminal devices within the Project Leo system
  • Develop embedded software utilizing Rust, C++, C
  • Participate in all phases of SDLC: requirements, design, coding, test, deployment and production system
  • Development of software in a secure compute environment
  • State machine design and analysis
  • Support Customer Terminal deployments operations and debugging on production systems
  • Technical writing of design specifications

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
