About the role

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (DRS) is a disaster recovery service by AWS that enables fast, reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications. The role involves full software development life cycle responsibilities, designing highly available, scalable, and secure systems, and contributing to product strategy and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

  • As a key member of the engineering team, influence product strategy, define features, refine architecture, and set best practices for a quality product.
  • Design and implement solutions meeting high availability, performance, and security requirements; lay the foundation for future product growth.
  • Participate in product definition, architecture reviews, iterative development, and code reviews.
  • Develop automation testing for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Provide technical leadership in scalable and robust solution design and implementation.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
  • Mentor team members on technologies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business and technical partners through verbal and written communication.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, scaling)
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
