About the role

Applied Scientist role focused on building GenAI technology with Large Language Models (LLMs) within the Foundational AI (FAI) team, supporting RL Gym development, frontier model advancement, and applied research leveraging large-scale data and computing resources.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of RL Gyms, assess their usefulness for frontier model advancement and build techniques to advance state-of-the-art with LLMs.
  • Support foundational model development in an applied research role.
  • Leverage heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate advances in LLMs.
  • Review experimental results, collaborate with engineering partners on algorithm design and system integration, lead science reviews, coach junior scientists, and document research results in papers.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
  • PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
  • Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
