About the role
Senior Applied Scientist role at Audible (an Amazon company) focused on solving large-scale real-world problems using ML/AI/GenAI, NLP, RL, and distributed systems. Leads end-to-end production deployments, drives scientific agenda, mentors other scientists, and collaborates with product and tech teams to create innovative content understanding, recommendations, and GenAI-based product features.
Responsibilities
- Understand complex, ambiguous use cases and design scalable, automated ML/AI solutions
- Work with scientists and software engineers to productionize models and deliver impactful features
- Review peers' models to manage risk and improve customer experience
- Lead design, development, and deployment of end-to-end solutions for Content Understanding, Recommendations, and GenAI-based features
- Drive initiatives using latest ML/AI/GenAI advances and publish peer-reviewed work
- Mentor and grow scientists, influence across Amazon
- Author internal or external publications validating novelty
- Define system-level requirements and write critical-path code
Qualifications
- PhD plus 5+ years of research experience, or Master’s degree plus 10+ years of research experience in ML, CS, Data Science, Applied Math, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in Deep Learning, NLP/Understanding, GenAI and/or RL
- Experience with Python, SQL, and scripting languages
- Experience delivering science solutions into production systems
- Experience developing and deploying LLMs in production on GPUs, Neuron, TPU or similar HW
- Experience with data & AI technologies (AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, Storage)
