About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The role focuses on driving stability and scalability of next-generation networks, delivering high-quality event management, and partnering with engineering and deployment teams to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Drive deep dives for large-scale events, deliver high-quality documentation and drive corrective actions to completion
- Improve detection mechanisms by designing and implementing new alerts
- Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes
- Identify and troubleshoot recurring platform issues and effectively engage with senior-level engineering teams for full resolution
- Work closely with Engineering & Deployment teams to ensure operational readiness for new deployments
- Drive standards across the organization and ensure compliance with standards and policies
- Create and review documentation and process regarding recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.
- Troubleshoot networking issues, and interconnectivity issues, including device configuration and low-level application interaction
- Identify and drive opportunities to repetitive tasks through creation and maintenance of scripts and tools
- Provide critical on-shift network operations support to diagnose and mitigate large-scale events
- Contribute towards hiring and developing others in the team
Qualifications
- 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
- 1+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
- Solid understanding of network troubleshooting and performance including TCP performance (latency, jitter, buffers), throughput/packet rate testing, and L2/L3 path selection
