About the role

Network Development Engineer responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing mission-critical enterprise networks across manufacturing facilities, research labs, launch sites, and mission operations centers for Amazon Leo (Kuiper). Focus on high availability, performance, security, automation, and cross-functional collaboration to support global operations and mission-critical activities.

Responsibilities

  • Deployment and ongoing maintenance of complex network solutions in manufacturing and lab environments
  • Ensure robust network operations supporting launch and mission activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex routing, interconnectivity, and performance issues
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and technical documentation
  • Lead capacity planning and performance optimization initiatives
  • Enhance and manage monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection
  • Mentor junior engineers on operational best practices and troubleshooting techniques
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability for mission-critical operations

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl
  • 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment
