About the role

People Operations Specialist for Spain, focusing on the Madrid/Barcelona teams. Owns the employee experience from contract to payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance as Lexroom grows in Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Be the go-to person for People in Spain: act as the local reference for Madrid and Barcelona teams, respond quickly and clearly, know when to say no.
  • Own the employee lifecycle end to end: contracts, onboarding, benefits, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth processes.
  • Keep the engine running: own payroll inputs and people data, collaborate with external partners to deliver monthly payroll with high accuracy.
  • Build a compliance foundation that scales: partner with legal advisors to implement standards for Spain as headcount grows.
  • Automate what slows us down: leverage AI, HiBob, and data to reduce manual work and build dashboards to inform People team decisions.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations or as an HR Generalist with hands-on work on contracts, onboarding and payroll.
  • Solid Spanish employment basics: knowledge of Spanish labor law fundamentals; experience with contracts, onboarding and resignations; payroll experience with external provider preferred.
  • Comfortable with data and AI: experienced with HRIS and identifying repetitive tasks to automate.
  • Organized and detail-oriented: able to manage recurring deadlines such as monthly payroll.
  • Proactive and resilient: preemptively address issues before they arise.
  • Excellent communication skills in Spanish (native) and English (fluent, C1+); Italian is a plus.
  • Bonus: familiarity with HiBob or similar HR/payroll tools; interest in the legal industry.
