About the role

People Operations Specialist for Spain, owning the operational side of the employee experience for Madrid/Barcelona, including contracts, onboarding, payroll and compliance as Lexroom expands in Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Be the go-to person for People in Spain: trusted local reference for Madrid and Barcelona teams, handling requests with speed and clarity.
  • Own the employee lifecycle end to end: from contracts to onboarding to benefits, ensuring accuracy, compliance and smoothness.
  • Keep the engine running: manage payroll inputs and people data, collaborate with external partners to deliver accurate monthly payroll.
  • Build a compliance foundation that scales: partner with legal advisors to implement scalable standards in Spain as headcount grows.
  • Automate what slows us down: leverage AI, HiBob and data to reduce manual work and build dashboards for faster decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations or as an HR Generalist, with hands-on work on contracts, onboarding and payroll.
  • Solid Spanish employment basics: knowledge of Spanish labor law, experience with contracts, onboarding and resignations, ideally with payroll via an external provider.
  • Comfortable with data and AI: experience with HRIS and identifying automation opportunities.
  • Organized and detail-oriented: ability to manage recurring deadlines such as monthly payroll.
  • Proactive and resilient: proactive in addressing issues before they escalate.
  • Excellent communication skills in Spanish (native) and English (fluent, C1+); Italian is a plus.
  • Optional but a bonus: familiarity with HiBob or similar HR/payroll tools; interest in the legal industry.
