About the role

Remote Canada role focused on developing and shipping fullstack web applications and APIs for Affirm's Ads Platform, collaborating across product, design, and analytics, and participating in on-call and growth activities.

Responsibilities

  • Break down larger projects into tasks, deliver in multiple phases, and collaborate to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support product lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics, articulating technical constraints, and weighing risks and trade-offs.
  • Support operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating as needed, and participating in on-call efforts.
  • Contribute to team community through growth and development activities, including interview participation.

Qualifications

  • 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React
  • Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin
  • Ability to translate simple problems into multi-component solutions with clean, well-tested, extensible code
  • Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging others' code, and participating in code reviews
  • Ownership mindset with proactive feedback seeking
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for global collaboration
  • Equivalence of practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
