About the role

Software Engineer II role focused on fullstack development for Affirm's Ads Platform within the Marketplace, enabling merchant partners to deploy budgets and reach targeted consumers while contributing to product development, operations, and team growth.

Responsibilities

  • Break down larger projects into tasks and deliver in phases, collaborating to ensure timely delivery
  • Collaborate with product management, design & analytics, participate in ideation, articulate technical constraints, and weigh risks and trade-offs
  • Create and monitor metrics, support on-call efforts, and keep team artifacts available
  • Contribute to team community through growth and development activities, including interview participation

Qualifications

  • 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React
  • Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin
  • Ability to translate simple problems into multi-component solutions with clean, well-tested, extensible code
  • Comfort navigating large code bases, debugging others' code, and providing code reviews
  • Proactive growth mindset, seeking feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for global collaboration
  • Equivalent practical experience or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
