About the role

Distributed systems engineer on the Continuous Profiler team building a low-overhead, production-grade profiling product. Focuses on designing, building, and operating core services for data intake, processing, indexing, storage, and presentation, with a hybrid office culture.

Responsibilities

  • Help design, build and contribute to the core services making the profiling product possible, at a scale that is unusual even within Datadog.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary squads, and iterate with customers, to bring ideas from early explorations to impactful product experiences.
  • You will be responsible for your code from development to production, and meet ambitious SLO and quality gates.
  • You will be working with many internal and external stakeholders, working on various ways to consume the profiling data, such as the UI, agentic tools, internal applications, integrations and partner products.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Java and/or Go essential.
  • Distributed systems engineer with experience building high performance large scale systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (English).
  • Ability to meaningfully review architectural proposals and guide technical trade-offs in a complex product space.
  • Experience working with AI coding agents to produce performant and maintainable results.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed teams.
