About the role

Strategic Partner Development Manager in Google Payment focusing on developing and managing partnerships within the Japanese payment ecosystem, driving cross-functional collaboration and negotiating agreements to grow Google’s payments business in Japan.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with multiple high-stakes partners and drive partner engagement and development across the Japanese payment ecosystem (e.g., payment networks, banks, issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants).
  • Guide the integration of multiple adjacent partner plan timelines, goals, and objectives, and manage account priorities and resource allocation in line with long-term strategy.
  • Contribute to the identification, creation, negotiation, and implementation of effective business development agreements that drive results for Google (e.g., bilateral agreements, standardized partner agreements).
  • Drive cross-functional/cross-regional engagement with teams including Strategy, Finance, Legal, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Android, Cloud, and Ads to deliver on key product objectives and One Google wins.
  • Identify opportunities to grow business within the ecosystem, help resolve complex partner issues (e.g., business and technical), and build repeatable processes for future scalability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
