About the role

Google Pay software engineer role focused on growth initiatives, building scalable backend services and frontend components, leveraging DevAI and agentic workflows to accelerate delivery and productivity, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of feature design and deployment, operating seamlessly across the stack from backend infrastructure to frontend mobile and web ecosystems.
  • Mentor junior engineers on reliable, scalable, and secure designs.
  • Lead technical designs for robust backend services and data processing pipelines that support massive-scale growth experiments.
  • Ensure long-term feature reliability by building comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and automated performance tracking.
  • Contribute to engineering excellence by participating in design reviews, improving code quality, and leveraging DevAI and agentic coding workflows to accelerate end-to-end development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 year of experience with software programming in C++, Java, Python or Go.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
