About the role

Software Engineering Manager leading a team delivering system software for servers in Google data centers, driving quality, velocity, roadmap, and cross-team collaboration within Google Cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team responsible for delivering system software for servers into Google data centers, with a focus on quality and velocity.
  • Set clear team priorities aligned to broader organizational goals.
  • Manage performance, development, and coaching of team members.
  • Develop mid-term technical direction and roadmap within the team scope, evolving it to meet future requirements.
  • Design, guide and evaluate system designs within the broader area, and contribute code as needed to solve ambiguous problems.
  • Review code from other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development, software/hardware integration, system bring-up, diagnostics, BIOS, Kernel or BMC.
  • 8 years of experience in embedded operating systems.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
