About the role

Internship in Google’s Hardware Operations data center team in Singapore. 10-12 week paid program focusing on repairing, upgrading, deployment, cabling, and Linux/networking tasks within Google’s data center infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to repair, upgrades, decoms, deployment, cabling, etc.
  • Identify trends for machine failure, report bugs, and work with remote teams to resolve them.
  • Contribute to projects in deployment and maintenance, and provide support to data center infrastructure.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Linux OS-related challenges on our servers and resolve critical or escalated technical challenges over a significant population of affected equipment.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, or similar technical area of study.
  • Enrolled in the penultimate academic year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • Experience installing a network or Linux system and with the basic concepts around these.
