About the role
Entry-level training role operating, monitoring, and supporting facility activities at Google's data centers, with focus on non-production facilities systems; includes hands-on maintenance, repairs, and learning Google data center operations.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to operations, maintenance, and repairs of non-production facilities systems.
- Assist executive technicians (e.g., assess a system's working order or read blueprints/schematics).
- Follow approved procedures and acquire knowledge of procedural development processes.
- Assist in the resolution of tickets and work orders. Acquire knowledge of work order and ticket workflow.
- Complete all assigned training as scheduled. Availability to work on shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with mechanical infrastructure systems, HVAC, mechanical maintenance, electrical safety, technical troubleshooting, computerized maintenance management system, predictive maintenance.
- Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs of equipment, required use of OSHA standard safety equipment (limited weight bearing work platforms, ladders, step stools and PPE like safety harnesses).
- Ability to work non-standard hours.
