About the role

Director role leading internal and external communications for Google Cloud, shaping the business narrative, crisis communications, and executive communications for Cloud leaders; manages a communications team and collaborates cross-functionally with journalists, executives, and other Google teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an internal and external comms team over time. Build and sustain communications programs across multiple channels.
  • Deliver confident, convincing and crisp communication both in written and verbal form and negotiate effectively with stakeholders. Provide strategic counsel to senior Google Cloud stakeholders.
  • Educate business, policy, and technology press on Google Cloud's unique value position, including our AI strategy. Manage ongoing executive communications opportunities, including media briefings, speaking engagements, and customer and partner activities.
  • Develop creative PR strategies and tactics that align with the brand. Collaborate closely with other Google teams on initiatives spanning competition, privacy, security, and more.
  • Liaise directly with Google’s internal communications leadership on key issues impacting employees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 20 years of experience in PR and internal communications.
