About the role

Senior Software Engineer role at Google DeepMind, focused on building user experiences around Gemini models, developing new infrastructure, and defining technical vision and roadmaps for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Create new user experiences that build upon state of the art Gemini models that will delight and engage our users.
  • Develop new infrastructure to support advanced capabilities, such as new training or evaluation methods.
  • Collaborate with UX, UXR and PM to identify and prioritize user journeys and incorporate these into the design of the software.
  • Collaborate with engineering peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to establish and maintain best practices in software development.
  • Drive the short-term technical vision and roadmap for your team, evolving strategies to meet future requirements and infrastructure needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics or a related field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.
  • 3 years of experience in: C++ for software development; Python for machine learning; Productionizing large language and multimodal models or ML infrastructure development for model deployment, evaluation, and optimization; Developing and refining user interface code using modern UI toolkits such as React, Angular, Flutter or similar; Root cause analysis for debugging software and ML systems.
