About the role

Software engineer role focusing on the RemoteCompose rendering stack for Android across multiple surfaces and form factors, with opportunities to influence multi-year technical roadmaps, cross-team collaboration, and hands-on implementation across Android, microcontrollers, and Web (WebAssembly).

Responsibilities

  • Define the multi-year technical roadmap and architecture for the RemoteCompose rendering stack across Android platform surfaces and form factors.
  • Design the multi-target execution model across Android, microcontrollers, and Web (WebAssembly), defining platform abstraction layers, FFI bridges, and deterministic rendering across runtimes.
  • Partner across Android platform engineering, UI frameworks, system surfaces, and product teams to integrate and scale the player.
  • Set code health standards, memory/performance budgets, and review practices while mentoring engineers across the team.
  • Implement 2D vector rendering, path math/morphing, AGSL shader pipelines, and curved/anchored text shaping for memory-constrained co-processors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
  • 5 years of experience with Android application development.
  • 5 years of experience with Linux Kernel, operating systems, and embedded systems.
