About the role
Software Engineer III focusing on engineering productivity for Google Geo, designing backend services, APIs, telemetry, and developer tooling to support Maps and related Geo developer workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain robust, scalable backend services and automation infrastructure supporting Geo's developer workflows.
- Architect reliable APIs and data contracts connecting execution systems, developer tooling, and build/test infrastructure.
- Design and implement evaluation harnesses, telemetry pipelines, and analytics platforms to measure the quality and impact of AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Establish automated feedback loops that translate execution traces and developer telemetry into continuous improvements for system performance.
- Build unified visualization dashboards and reporting interfaces that translate complex engineering telemetry into actionable insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience building developer tools (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
