About the role

Google Cloud software engineering role focused on building and improving the Virtual Machine (VM) team within Google Distributed Cloud, with opportunities to work across large-scale systems, infrastructure, and AI-enabled development.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop features to enable more effective deployment and operation of Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) air-gapped.
  • Review design documents and code written by other engineers, and provide feedback to ensure best practices. Work with partner teams to accelerate development and delivery of the platform.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, Product Managers (PMs), and Technical Program Managers (TPMs) to deliver a high-quality system.
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content, and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues, and debug, track, and resolve them by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality. Leverage AI to carry out core responsibilities effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, or C++).
  • 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
