About the role

Architect in Gong's AI Applications group leading the architecture and technical direction of the Revenue Harness, an agentic framework powering an AI teammate for revenue professionals. Hands-on role embedding with teams to build scalable, extensible agentic systems on state-of-the-art AI technology.

Responsibilities

  • Define reference architecture and contracts between agents, tools, context, and models
  • Embed in teams across domains and contribute to design and code
  • Set evaluation, regression gates, and production monitoring for non-deterministic systems
  • Raise engineering standards and mentor across the group
  • Drive AI-assisted development including coding agents, AI code review, and agentic workflows

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of backend development with strong Java and Spring Boot
  • Proven Staff or Principal-level impact across multiple teams
  • Hands-on experience shipping production LLM applications (agents, tool calling, RAG, structured generation)
  • Deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems (asynchronous, event-driven, streaming)
  • Ability to dive into unfamiliar codebases, switch contexts, and identify high-impact opportunities
  • Mentoring passion and ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse stakeholders
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and track record of driving AI-assisted development
