About the role

Senior Technical Consultant specializing in Salesforce DevOps & Release Engineering. Responsible for designing, building, and continuously improving CI/CD pipelines, environment management frameworks, deployment automation toolkits, and release governance to enable scalable, safe migrations across multiple tracks in a Migration Factory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to define requirements, deliverables and manage expectations across all migration factory tracks — acting as the DevOps point of contact for both internal track teams and client release management leads.
  • Assess existing DevOps processes, tools and practices at the start of each migration engagement — recommending improvements to branching strategy, environment management, deployment models and quality gates.
  • Design, present and implement best-fit DevOps solutions using Gearset, Copado, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or GitLab CI for each wave context.
  • Drive the selection and implementation of DevOps tools across the Migration Factory for multi-org support, conflict management and automated testing integration.
  • Lead setup and execution of Salesforce DevOps frameworks for small-to-medium migration waves from kickoff to production release.
  • Collaborate with Technical Architects and track leads on larger engagements to translate designs into phased deployment pipelines and release governance procedures.
  • Ensure successful continuous delivery deployments across Dev → SIT → UAT → Pre-Prod → Production with automated gates and health monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce product teams to support client implementations and validate metadata API behaviors for new features.
  • Design and own the Migration Factory's CI/CD pipeline architecture and maintain shared pipelines across product tracks.
  • Implement source-driven development standards and enforce Salesforce DX project structure and versioning.
  • Lead cutover pipeline design and automation including pre-cutover validation, automated smoke tests, and post-cutover dashboards.
  • Build and maintain the DevOps accelerator library with reusable templates and utilities.
  • Govern metadata versioning and conflict resolution across concurrent track teams.
  • Define and report on DevOps metrics and participate in Architecture Review Board (ARB) discussions.
  • Support developer onboarding and DevOps enablement through internal sessions and setup guidance.

Qualifications

  • Salesforce Platform Experience (6+ years) with focus on DevOps, release management and CI/CD
  • Salesforce DX, CLI & Metadata API expertise including scratch orgs and source tracking
  • Apex & Lightning Web Components development
  • CI/CD tools experience: Copado, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps
  • Version control expertise: GitHub, Bitbucket (GitFlow, trunk-based development)
  • Sandbox strategy & source-driven development
  • Deployment models: Change Sets, Unlocked/Managed 2GP, direct Metadata API deployments
  • Test automation tools exposure: Provar, CRT, TOSCA, ApexUnit, JMeter
  • Code quality & security tools: SonarQube, PMD, Checkmarx
  • Docker and orchestration for multi-track deployments
  • Security integration in CI/CD (secret management, vaults, encryption)
  • Performance monitoring and observability (Event Monitoring, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor)
  • Branching & release governance
  • Client-facing communication and project leadership
  • Salesforce Certifications (as listed) - mandatory: Salesforce Platform Developer I, Salesforce Certified DevOps Accredited Professional, Salesforce Administrator
  • Preferred certifications in DevOps and related areas (e.g., Platform Developer II, Copado/Gearset/GitHub Actions)
