About the role

The AWS Data Center Availability Serviceability team focuses on delivering high availability, capacity, and scaling outcomes across AWS data centers by standardizing operations, tools, policy, processes, and procedures. The Maintenance Optimization Technical Program Manager (TPM) will own how data center infrastructure is maintained, applying reliability-centered maintenance thinking to optimize preventive maintenance tasks across a live production fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preventive maintenance optimization across electrical and mechanical equipment classes, from failure-mode analysis to revised maintenance standards and published technicians' procedures.
  • Define a repeatable, lightweight method to challenge maintenance tasks (failure mode, consequence, existing detection, proposed control) for program managers to execute independently.
  • Collaborate with monitoring, controls, and maintenance-planning teams to determine where remote telemetry can replace physical inspections and remove human checks when data supports it.
  • Own decisions on maintenance tasks, addressing why the task exists, consequences if it stops, and whether data can prove changes; work across EAM data, equipment telemetry, regulatory regimes, vendor warranties, and physical gear within a live fleet.
  • Coach TPMs to carry this reasoning into every program they touch.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
