About the role

SDE II to help build AI-native tools for customer experience and business trend insights at Amazon. Develop full-stack features, work with AI/ML components, and lead AI-powered product initiatives with startup-like autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and deploy software components across our full-stack applications, including front-end web experiences and backend services
  • Write clean, well-tested, production-ready code that others can maintain and extend
  • Collaborate with team members on technical design, code reviews, and problem-solving, incorporating feedback to continuously improve code quality
  • Work with product management and UX design to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical implementations
  • Partner closely with Applied Science to apply best practices for building generative AI applications, including prompt engineering, retrieval systems, and agent-based architectures
  • Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement
  • Actively coach other engineers on the team and ensure the best engineering practices are adopted across the team

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
