About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. The role focuses on fulfillment planning and execution systems to translate demand into actionable plans for material procurement, data center capacity, and rack deployment at global scale. You will build distributed systems, detect plan-execution deviations, and provide explainability to enable timely actions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems that power AWS infrastructure fulfillment planning and execution.
  • Architect solutions that detect and explain deviations between build plans and execution outcomes, enabling proactive intervention.
  • Write high-quality, modular, testable code and set the standard for engineering excellence on the team.
  • Solve complex architecture and business problems with extensible, scalable solutions built on native AWS services.
  • Formally mentor engineers on design, coding, operational excellence, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with demand planning, supply chain operations, and partner engineering teams in a global environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
