About the role

Software Development Engineer II position focusing on AI-powered transportation software (Relay Assistant / Relay Compass) within Amazon Relay. Opportunity to solve deep technical problems, build AI-powered experiences, and work on multi-disciplinary, large-scale distributed systems and conversational AI in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver large-scale, multi-tiered software applications and services using languages such as C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable systems with emphasis on architecture, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance AI-powered transportation solutions (conversational AI, multi-agent systems, memory/context management, voice interfaces, evaluations, guardrails, experimentation frameworks, real-time operational intelligence).
  • Participate in end-to-end SDLC activities including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations (preferred).

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new or existing systems
  • 2+ years of software development engineer or related experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications or services
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
  • Experience programming in at least one software language (C#, C++, Java, or Perl)
