About the role

Software Development Engineer position in the Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) organization, focusing on building a new supply chain product with scalable backend systems, optimization problems, and customer-facing APIs/apps. Emphasis on entrepreneurial spirit, technical depth, and delivering pioneering software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements to our technology by shipping code continuously
  • Collaborate with engineers and users across domains (transactional backend systems, optimization problems, customer facing APIs/apps)
  • Contribute to building a multi-tenant, bulk storage and distribution service
  • Develop world-class software and solve challenging problems in distributed systems, algorithms, and HCI
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI/tools to enhance workflow efficiency and productivity (preferred)
  • Participate in full software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, test, and operations (preferred)

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency and productivity (preferred)
  • Experience identifying opportunities to integrate AI solutions into products and services to drive business value (preferred)
