About the role

Senior technical leader responsible for ensuring 100% uptime of data center mechanical, electrical, and fire protection/life safety systems. Leads maintenance, incident response, and infrastructure improvement projects, mentors Engineering Operations Technicians, and collaborates across cross-functional teams to balance reliability with cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of the data center's mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Work independently with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Act as the escalation point for all data center facility-related issues, escalating to the Facility Manager as needed.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of equipment failures.
  • Troubleshoot and report facility-level and server-level events within internal SLA timelines.
  • Create and deploy new standard practices for EOT Technicians, Chief Engineers, and contractor teams.
  • Provide training and mentoring to Engineering Operations Technicians.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety procedures by contractors and Amazon personnel.
  • Use the internal CMMS to manage and track facility workflows.
  • Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Lead infrastructure improvement projects from design to delivery, tracking milestones, costs, and deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English (spoken, written, and reading).
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Industrial Technology, or Electrotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in a data center or other critical environment.
  • Proven experience in the management and maintenance of critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, switchboards, HVAC, chilled water/cooling systems).
