About the role

AWS seeks a Data Center Structural Engineer to join the design team in Seattle, WA or Austin, TX. The role focuses on designing resilient, cost-effective data center facilities, providing technical guidance, reviewing consultant drawings, and solving large-scale structural implementation challenges for prototypical DC facilities within the Americas region and globally.

Responsibilities

  • - Act as a subject matter expert in structural design for data center facilities
  • - Contribute to prototypical DC facility designs and provide technical guidance to team members
  • - Review milestone drawings produced by consultants
  • - Solve large-scale implementation issues related to structural design and construction
  • - Ensure designs meet building codes, regulations, and standards (IBC, ASCE) and align with AWS goals of uptime, security, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness

Qualifications

  • - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering
  • - Professional Engineer License
  • - 7+ years experience in structural design for industrial or commercial projects
  • - 5+ years of experience with design of Data Center, Mission Critical, Hospital, Schools, Commercial or Residential Tower facilities
  • - Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC and ASCE
