About the role

Area Manager I, Outbound is an entry-level front-line leadership role in Amazon Operations in a distribution center. The manager leads and develops a team of Amazon Associates, focuses on safety, quality, attendance, and engagement, and ensures that policies are followed while supporting tasks such as recognizing good performance and maintaining security and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of 20 to 50 Amazon Associates
  • Communicate policies to Associates and act as the primary information source for the team, maintaining compliance, consistency, and taking corrective action when needed
  • Create, manage, and support recognition and communication programs
  • Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all Associates
  • Ensure procedures are followed for building security and product loss prevention
  • Partner with the management team to establish and maintain quality control standards
  • Develop performance goals and objectives to achieve customer demand and ensure accuracy and quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 1+ years of team leadership experience
  • Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts
