About the role

Senior Full Stack Engineer on LaunchDarkly’s AgentControl team building scalable backend services, distributed systems, and AI-focused workflows to control, monitor, and optimize agent functionality. Remote in US.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable backend services, distributed systems, and APIs that power the AgentControl product
  • Work primarily in Go, Python, and TypeScript and with AWS, CockroachDB, Datadog, DeepEval, and FastAPI
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to understand real-world challenges and improve GenAI workflows on the platform
  • Stay up to date with AI and software development best practices
  • Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability of systems
  • Drive architecture and design discussions, evaluate trade-offs, and make informed decisions
  • Take ownership of production code, participate in on-call rotations, and improve reliability and maintainability
  • Support teammates with design reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production-quality full-stack features
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, fine-tuning models, or deploying AI services in production
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining RESTful APIs
  • Production-ready code with emphasis on quality and maintainability
  • Experience with distributed systems or data ingestion
  • Strong computer science fundamentals
  • Collaborative, communicative attitude
  • Comfort navigating ambiguous challenges in a rapidly evolving domain
  • Strong ownership and accountability
  • Experience working with Product and Design to define feature requirements in a fast-paced environment
  • Bonus: Hands-on experience building GenAI features, Agents, and/or working with LLMs via AI APIs (OpenAI, Google Cloud AI, AWS Bedrock)
