About the role

Remote commercial counsel role focused on reviewing and negotiating US commercial contracts for Crosby clients, with an emphasis on leveraging AI in legal practice and improving contract processes.

Responsibilities

  • Review and negotiate commercial contracts with speed and precision, catching obligations, risks, and off-market terms that matter.
  • Collaborate with other Crosby legal team members to interpret contract terms and surface anomalies and edge cases that need an expert’s read.
  • Spot inefficiencies and recurring patterns in how contracts get reviewed, and turn them into improvements that sharpen how the whole team works.
  • Help standardize and codify recurring contract types and playbooks so the team’s judgment compounds instead of resetting on every deal.
  • Partner with engineering and operations to evolve our legal service delivery model.

Qualifications

  • Admitted to practice and in good standing in at least one US state
  • An Australian practising certificate, or foreign lawyer registration (or eligibility to register)
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a visa with unrestricted work rights (we’re unable to sponsor)
  • 4+ years reviewing US commercial contracts in private practice or in-house
  • Impeccable attention to detail, and sound, commercial judgment
  • High personal standards for work quality and continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication, able to explain hard calls simply
  • Interest in AI and frontier of legal work
