About the role

Senior Infrastructure Engineer II responsible for owning and improving Kit's core infrastructure (databases, Kubernetes, version upgrades, platform tooling, and day-to-day operations), building paved paths for safe testing and deployment, and maintaining high reliability with on-call responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Own core infrastructure areas end to end: databases, Kubernetes, version upgrades, and platform tooling.
  • Take full on-call responsibility starting by the end of the first quarter.
  • Ship improvements such as version upgrades or monitoring enhancements.
  • Build paved paths (e.g., sandbox environments) for AI agents or non-engineers to safely build and test changes.
  • Write runbooks, docs, and decision write-ups.
  • Collaborate with product engineers and other teams relying on infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Around 7+ years in infrastructure, platform, DevOps, or SRE roles
  • Owning production infrastructure for a product where downtime costs customers money
  • Carrying a pager for systems you owned and reducing on-call noise over time
  • Leading major upgrade or migration with minimal customer impact
  • Building self-service tooling or paved paths that engineers adopted
  • Experience in a small infrastructure team where problem handoffs are limited
