About the role
Full-Stack Engineering Intern on HyLight's Platform Team to build internal tools, ground station software, and cross-team automations enabling scalable operations for aerial inspections.
Responsibilities
- Ship internal applications for operations, regulatory, sales, and tech (e.g., mission planning, fleet & inventory tracking, post-flight review, regulatory dashboards, CRM-adjacent tooling)
- Understand the business and model it to clean data models and abstractions
- Automate manual workflows and replace them with software
- Integrate systems (Notion, Slack, GitHub, OnShape, etc.) for data flow and a single source of truth
- Tackle hard, domain-specific problems to convert criteria (weather, airspace, regulation, fleet availability, mission objectives) into a concrete flight schedule
- Contribute to the ground station—telemetry dashboards, sensor feeds, and pilot-facing tools
- Develop APIs and services supporting frontend applications and integrations
- Create automations and AI-powered tools
- Follow good engineering practices around testing, scalability, and code quality
- Collaborate with Head of Platform and other engineers
- Build tools used by pilots, operators, and engineers weekly
- Opportunity to participate in flight tests on the airbase
- Potential to continue full-time after internship
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 4–6 month internship starting in 2026
- Interest in building tools used internally by the company
Skills
Benefits
- Hands-on internship with real responsibility and direct impact from day one
- Mentorship from CTO, Head of Platform, and engineers
- Tools you build used by pilots, operators, and engineers weekly
- Opportunity to participate in flight tests on the airbase
- Exposure to a modern stack and fast-paced startup environment
- Potential to continue full-time after internship
- 100% reimbursement of public transport pass (Navigo) or €800/year for sustainable commuting
- Bike provided for commuting

About HyLight
Small unmanned hydrogen airships for long range monitoring
HyLight builds and operates autonomous airships for long range monitoring. We focus on detecting methane leaks on pipelines and defects on power lines. Our innovation, the HyLighter, is a crossover between drone and airship technology. Like a drone, it is easily controllable and transportable. And, like an airship, it is extremely energy-efficient, enabling it to fly for up to 10 hours at slow speed (22mph) for optimal data collection which represents a range of 220miles. Today, energy infrastructure operators struggle with conducting inspections that are simultaneously: massive and precise. HyLight offers a solution to precisely detect issues on the infrastructure at an industrial scale, and all of this without emitting GHGs. We are 3 co-founders experienced in hardware and energy companies with Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Business from the best Engineering and Business School in France. We have developed 5 different flying aircrafts and signed 5 pilots programs with major energy infrastructure operators. We also have LOIs worth over $3.5M.
