About the role

Senior Security Engineer on the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) at Datadog, focusing on identifying, triaging, and responding to cybersecurity threats, improving detection and incident response tooling, and contributing to cross-functional learning to strengthen the company's defensive posture.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Cyber Threat Intelligence and Detection Engineering to identify threats and ensure high-signal detections.
  • Triage escalated alerts to determine security incidents or imminent incidents.
  • Respond to security incidents as incident commander or incident responder.
  • Build tools and automations to eliminate repetitive processes.
  • Improve security posture through post-incident reviews, tabletop exercises, purple team exercises, and runbook improvements.
  • Participate in a light on-call rotation.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in security incident response, threat hunting, security operations, cloud security, or other operational security domains.
  • Experience with at least one public cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, or Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native threat actor TTPs and defensive controls; actively stay up to date with threat landscape.
  • Experience using a wide range of technologies and datasets to detect threats in cloud and enterprise environments.
  • Experience building and supporting tools for incident response and forensic use cases using Python, Go, or similar programming languages.
