About the role

Sustainment Engineer responsible for field troubleshooting, maintenance, and reliability of deployed robotics and ASRS systems at customer sites, acting as the hands-on link between on-site operations and Engineering to ensure uptime and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve field issues on deployed robotics and ASRS systems, performing hands-on corrective actions using hand and power tools
  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance, and support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) on recurring issues under the direction of the Senior Sustainment Engineer
  • Manage spare parts planning, service kit deployment, and CMMS/PLM record-keeping for assigned work orders
  • Act as a technical point of contact for the customer’s maintenance and operations team during routine support and escalations
  • Produce accurate, complete documentation for every service event: photos, measurements, troubleshooting steps, and resolution evidence
  • Follow and help refine technical support guides, troubleshooting manuals, and standardized playbooks
  • Escalate issues with clear context, including root cause hypothesis, objective evidence, affected systems, and recommended next actions, to the Senior Sustainment Engineer

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of field service, maintenance, or customer support engineering experience, ideally in industrial, robotics, automation, or similarly complex electromechanical environments
  • Hands-on electromechanical troubleshooting experience: wiring, connectors, sensors, actuators, and comfort working around powered equipment with hand and power tools
  • Executes with discipline from defined work instructions: follows checklists precisely, documents evidence completely, and holds quality standards under schedule pressure
  • Demonstrated safety discipline in live, powered industrial environments
  • Clear communication: flags issues concisely, escalates with context, and closes the loop with the Senior Sustainment Engineer and the customer
