Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer – EDA Clusters
NVIDIA· Engineer, Sys SW
Hybrid (Remote United States)$184k - $287.5kFull-timePosted 4d ago
About the role
Security-focused engineer responsible for building and operating security controls, telemetry, and enforcement for NVIDIA's large-scale EDA compute, storage, and networking clusters across on-prem and multi-cloud environments. Hands-on, with emphasis on engineering solutions that meet high-performance and long-running workload constraints.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate security controls and telemetry for EDA compute, storage, and networking - design, ship to production, then own them.
- Engineer around hard constraints to protect multi-day, high-value compute jobs without degrading them, crafting alternatives to heavyweight in-node agents when necessary.
- Make the network and platform the control plane; ensure protection does not rely solely on in-node defenses.
- Instrument for detection by collecting and normalizing security signals from the fleet into the SIEM, and build detections and dashboards for actionable insights.
- Investigate and respond to EDA-specific threats and exposure, and perform containment and remediation with infrastructure and service owners.
- Automate enforcement and evidence with infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code; produce compliance evidence as engineering output.
- Manage the lifecycle of security technologies owned (selection, rollout, operation, replacement).
- Collaborate across data center operations, IT storage and networking, CSP teams, and NVIDIA's central security organization.
- Think like an adversary through threat modeling and mitigation planning across network, storage, and compute.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on infrastructure or infrastructure-security engineering across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Strong Linux depth and system-level proficiency.
- Experience operating or securing compute fleets at scale (provisioning, lifecycle, long-running jobs).
- Working networking expertise applied to large compute environments.
- Programming/scripting fluency (Python, Go, or shell) for automation, detection, and tooling.
- Foundations in access control, authentication, segmentation, encryption, and vulnerability lifecycle.
- Track record of landing changes with partner teams.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience.
