About the role

Software Engineering Manager responsible for monitoring and optimizing system health and performance data processing for Google’s consumer applications. Defines technical strategy, leads a multi-team engineering effort, mentors engineers, and partners with cross-functional groups to ensure high performance and reliability at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the technical strategy, roadmap, and priorities for system health and performance data processing.
  • Drive delivery and execution of projects that enhance the reliability and performance of consumer applications.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering an engineering culture.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams across multiple Product Areas to ensure platform work meets customer needs.
  • Build and manage centralized agentic performance optimization systems for first-party applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
  • Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
