About the role

Staff Software Engineer role focused on building diagnostics, telemetry, and performance tooling to ensure fast, stable, and seamless Google apps across mobile and web; leadership in a high-throughput data processing and system-health domain.

Responsibilities

  • Build diagnostics and telemetry to keep critical apps fast, stable, and seamless for users.
  • Design and scale the next generation of performance and system-health tooling for mobile and web applications.
  • Drive performance and reliability across critical applications and infrastructure, such as Search, YouTube, Maps, Gemini, and Android.
  • Process high-throughput data from client app telemetry using debugging tools and data analytics.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across team boundaries to deliver scalable client infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience testing, launching software products, and leading performance optimization.
  • 5 years of experience building large-scale infrastructure, high-throughput data processing systems, or storage systems.
  • 3 years of experience with software design, architecture, and debugging tools.
