Responsibilities

  • Leverage cloud technologies to build latest features for customers and collaborate with Google Cloud Platform infrastructure teams.
  • Understand and contribute to Cloud FileSystems, Networking, Google Cloud Platform, and enterprise ecosystems.
  • Make ambiguous problems tractable and set technical strategy for responsible areas.
  • Reduce chaos through automation and maintain rigorous defensive engineering standards for high availability.
  • Serve as subject matter expert when working with external partners, important clients, or internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, technical guidance, and sponsorship; foster psychological safety in engineering teams.
  • Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide among available technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++).
  • 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
