About the role

Google software engineer role focusing on AI and infrastructure within the data center and platform stack. The position emphasizes ownership of outcomes, leadership of engineers, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize data center capacity and support massive scale workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for optimal usage of gigawatts of DC capacity across all internal & external customers over multi-year time horizon.
  • Lead talented junior engineers to drive policy, propose technical designs, write software, identify and address software defects, and measure success of the system. Provide 1-1 guidance and mentorship of junior engineers.
  • Work closely with business teams to develop and drive policy changes in tandem with the technical roadmap. Align with partner and cross-functional teams on dependencies and joint commitments.
  • Drive the software development process including coding, review, design and architecture discussion. Communicate technical impact to the broader ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience programming in C++.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
  • 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
