About the role

Be part of a team that pushes boundaries, developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products. Leads technical process and product development for Google’s compute hardware, including AI solutions, at scale for Google Cloud and Machine Learning. Focuses on manufacturing processes to enable design for excellence, tolerance analysis, and scalable production.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a go-to technical expert within a significant area of manufacturing engineering (e.g., tooling, automation, test, process development, DFX).
  • Help define the medium and long-term technical strategy and manufacturing architecture for scalability and robustness and influence the supply chain selection for next generation hardware to support Google Cloud and Machine Learning.
  • Drive initiatives that result in step-change improvements in cost, quality, efficiency, or capabilities.
  • Use advanced statistical tools to guide teams to make data driven decisions to improve product manufacturing and design.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers within the team and cross-functionally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial, Process, or Manufacturing Engineering, related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in process or product development for electro-mechanical assemblies for electronic systems.
  • 5 years of experience in process, design, or product development for mechanical assemblies.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
