About the role

Software engineer position focused on building and delivering features for Google Cloud's Service Mesh Platform, with ownership over project work, collaboration across teams, and emphasis on distributed systems, networking, and microservices infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality features and components with minimal guidance from executive team members, taking full ownership of assigned project work.
  • Scope and solve technical problems across the team's systems, clarifying requirements and proactively seeking input when necessary.
  • Build systems and tools to automate common operations (e.g., installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting) on customer clusters.
  • Maintain clear communication and respectful collaboration with Technical Leads, peers, and partner teams across CSM and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Ensure a frictionless and resilient experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
  • Experience developing and deploying containerized applications on Kubernetes.
