Engineering Manager role leading a team of software engineers within Google Cloud AI and Compute, focusing on VMX Lifecycle services powering host-level control plane for Google Cloud VMs, with emphasis on security, performance, reliability, and driving new features.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing software engineers, fostering career development and a collaborative environment.
  • Guide technical strategy, operational workflows, and long-term goals aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Enforce software engineering best practices to build scalable, maintainable, and high-performing systems.
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of key initiatives, aligning timelines, resources, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to establish project roadmaps and maintain strategic alignment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
